PowerX Electricity

Electrical Panel installation

Download PowerX Mobile App from the app store
Download PowerX Mobile App from the app store and follow the instructions.
Turn off electricity using main power-on switch in your circuit breaker panel
Do not proceed if circuit breaker is on.
Place PowerX device in breaker panel or on wall
Place PowerX device in circuit breaker panel or on the wall, using the wall mount. Use the PowerX Mount and screws to attach PowerX to the wall.
Put the two clamps around the main phases (line 1 and line 2) to measure current
Clamp the sensors around the service mains so that both PowerX logos are facing the same direction. Once placed in the final orientation, push the sensor lock in until you hear a click.
Connect PowerX device with a circuit breaker to power it and to measure voltage
Connect the black wire and the red wire to an empty 240V breaker and the white wire to the neutral bus bar. PowerX draws less than 0.1A, so you should use the smallest 240V breaker available for your panel. If you don’t have an empty breaker, connect PowerX to an existing breaker or add a new 240V breaker. Do not use a tandem breaker, unless it is 240V.
Turn on electricity using main power-on switch in your circuit breaker panel
Replace the panel cover carefully to ensure that there is no pressure on the sensor clamps that would cause them to open. Label the PowerX breakers. Turn electricity back on.

PowerX Water

Water Pipe installation

Download PowerX Mobile App from the app store
Download PowerX Mobile App from the app store and follow the instructions.
Place PowerX device behind the main valve and before pipe splits into branches
Place PowerX device behind the main valve and before the pipe splits into branches.
Mount PowerX on the wall with screws or on the pipe with zip ties using the PowerX Holder
Use the PowerX Holder to mount the PowerX device near a clear patch on the pipe that you wish to measure. Use zip ties to connect the PowerX Holder to the pipe. Alternatively, mount the PowerX device next to a clear patch of the pipe on the wall using screws
Strap the ultrasonic sensor to the pipe at a pre-cleaned spot
Strap the ultrasonic sensor to the pipe at a location that is dust and fat free. Pre-clean the spot if needed using water and soap.
Move ultrasound sensor until light blinks fast or is stable
The quality of measurement depends on a well-placed sensor. The light sensor blinks faster with higher quality measurement. A stable light indicates near-perfect quality. Move ultrasound sensor until you achieve a fast-blinking or stable light.
Calibrate the water flow by filling a bucket with water, stopping time in the mobile app
Calibrate the water flow by filling a bucket with water 3 times. Use the app to indicate the size of the bucket and the start and stop time of your measurement. Calibration is important to properly assess the flow-rate.
